Slowburn – Terms of Service
Slowburn is an interactive romance fiction service for adults, operated by PowerQuant ApS, trading as ONEWORD Entertainment, Denmark ("we", "us"). Registered address and CVR number are available on request at hello@onewordentertainment.com. Contact: hello@onewordentertainment.com.
By creating an account or using Slowburn you accept these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
1. What Slowburn is
1.1 Slowburn lets you exchange text messages with fictional adult characters. The characters are generated by artificial intelligence. Optionally, you may receive AI-generated voice notes and portraits of those characters.
1.2 Everything a character says or shows is fiction. Characters are not real people, do not have opinions, and cannot give advice. Nothing in Slowburn is medical, legal, financial, relationship or mental-health advice. If you are in distress, contact a professional or an emergency service.
1.3 Slowburn contains explicit sexual and romantic content intended for adults only.
2. Eligibility
2.1 You must be at least 18 years old and old enough to lawfully view adult content where you live. Where the local age of majority is higher than 18, that higher age applies.
2.2 When you sign up you must confirm that you meet 2.1. We record that confirmation together with a timestamp, your browser information and a salted hash of your IP address as evidence.
2.3 If we have reason to believe you are under 18, we will suspend the account immediately and may delete it.
3. Your account
3.1 You sign in with a magic link sent to your email address. There is no password. Keep your email account secure; anyone with access to your inbox can access your Slowburn account.
3.2 One account per person. You may not share, sell or transfer your account.
3.3 You are responsible for everything that happens under your account unless it results from our breach of security.
3.4 You can delete your account at any time from the app or by emailing us. Deletion cannot be undone. It removes your profile, your stories and messages, the memory notes kept for your stories, and the voice notes and images generated for them, within 30 days. Two things outlive it, and only these two: evidence that you declared you were an adult, kept for five years, and safety and enforcement records, kept for twelve months or until a related claim ends. Both are set out in the Privacy Policy. The characters and their portraits are part of Slowburn's shared catalogue, not your data, and are not affected.
4. Beta and free use
4.1 Slowburn is currently in beta. Features may change, break or be removed without notice. We may limit the number of free users and the volume of messages, voice notes and images.
4.2 Free use may end at any time. We will give at least 14 days' notice by email before any paid tier becomes mandatory for continued use.
5. Subscriptions and billing
5.1 Prices, billing period and included features are shown at checkout. Prices include Danish VAT unless stated otherwise.
5.2 Payments are processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland) or another processor named at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
5.3 The name shown on your card or bank statement is set in our payment processor's account settings and partly by your bank, and we do not promise any particular wording. The checkout page and your receipt show our business name and the name of your plan, and these may include the word "Slowburn".
5.4 Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the app or by email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep access until then.
5.5 Right of withdrawal. Under the Danish Consumer Contracts Act you may withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of purchase. Because the service starts immediately at your express request, you pay for the part of the period you have used. As a simplification in your favour, if you withdraw within 14 days and have used the service on fewer than 3 days, we refund the full month.
5.6 Refund on unused time. Beyond the 14-day window, we do not refund partial months, except where we have ended your access without cause, the service has been materially unavailable, or Danish consumer law requires it.
5.7 If we raise a price, we will email you at least 30 days before the change applies to you. You may cancel before then without charge.
5.8 Failed payments may lead to suspension of paid features until payment succeeds.
6. Acceptable use
6.1 Three rules never bend: no sexual content involving anyone under 18, no real or identifiable persons, no non-consensual content. Attempting any of these, including by describing a character as a minor or by uploading someone's likeness, is a material breach.
6.2 Our full Acceptable Use Policy is part of these Terms. It also covers harassment, illegal content, attempts to extract system prompts, and misuse of the service.
6.3 We run automated safety filters on inputs and outputs, and a small human team may review flagged content. See the Privacy Policy for how this works.
7. Content and ownership
7.1 Your inputs. You own the text you write. You give us a licence to store, process and display it for the purpose of running Slowburn for you, and to review it for safety.
7.2 AI outputs. Character replies, voice notes and portraits are generated for you. To the extent we hold rights in them, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use them for private, non-commercial purposes. You may not sell them or present them as depicting a real person.
7.3 No exclusivity. Because AI generates similar output for similar prompts, other users may receive similar content. We cannot promise that any output is unique.
7.4 Our platform. Slowburn's software, character designs, names, brand and story frameworks belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or build competing datasets from them.
7.5 We do not use your conversations to train AI models, and we do not sell them.
8. No guarantee of accuracy
8.1 AI output can be wrong, inconsistent, offensive or unexpected. We do not guarantee that content is accurate, appropriate, safe or fit for any purpose. Use your own judgement.
8.2 The service is provided "as is" during beta. We do not guarantee uptime, that memory of past conversations persists, or that content will not be filtered or removed.
9. Suspension and termination
9.1 We may warn you, restrict features, suspend or permanently close your account if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if required by law, or to protect other users or the service. For serious breaches we act without prior warning.
9.2 Where the law requires it, we report illegal content to the relevant authorities.
9.3 You may stop using Slowburn and delete your account at any time.
9.4 If we terminate a paid subscription without cause, we refund the unused portion of the current period.
10. Liability
10.1 We are liable for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, and for any liability that cannot be excluded under Danish law, including under the Danish Sale of Goods Act and Consumer Contracts Act.
10.2 Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, lost data or emotional distress caused by fictional content, and our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or DKK 500 if you paid nothing.
10.3 Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory Danish or EU law.
11. Complaints and disputes
11.1 Write to hello@onewordentertainment.com first; we aim to respond within 14 days.
11.2 Consumers may complain to Center for Klageløsning, Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark (naevneneshus.dk). The EU's online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available.
11.3 These Terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes are brought before the Danish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rules that allow you to sue where you live.
12. Changes
12.1 We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new Terms; if you do not, cancel and delete your account before then.
13. Other
13.1 If any clause is invalid, the rest remains in force. We may transfer these Terms to a successor operator of Slowburn; you will be told. These Terms are the whole agreement between you and us about Slowburn.
